Consider the Mac Advantage: Because the areas of the end seals and the poppet seals on a Mac valve are engineered to be equal, the inlet pressure provides an equal force to each. Thus, there is no net force on the poppet due to the inlet air pressure. Therefore, changing inlet pressure has no effect on shifting forces, and will not affect the timing characteristics of the valve.
